As part of their efforts to close this gap, African countries have been targeting investors, such as sovereign wealth funds, pensions funds and development banks, while also enhancing the investment environment. Nevertheless, a number of challenges remain, such as a shortage of bankable projects, limited access to the international sustainable finance market, and perceived risks that impede long-term international investment in the continent.
To address these challenges and fully leverage international investment for sustainable development, this event will gather senior executives from leading sovereign investors from Africa and international investors to discuss sustainable investment opportunities in Africa. The event will focus on the initiatives and mechanisms that can foster collaborations between African and international financial institutions to facilitate international investment for sustainable development.
